Gas Tanks
Gas Tank - POLY - 9/'72-12/'78
Poly Tank fits 9/'72 to 12/'78 Installation Tip: Tank installer should first rinse tank clear of debris before installing. Many variables can contribute to fuel line contamination. New inline gas filter and hoses are recommended. Do not over tighten gas sending unit to tank or leak will occur. If used with a Weber Carburetor then Line D (Return Line) will need to be closed off. Lines from the fuel separator to the charcoal canister and then to the intake manifold must be properly connected or tank may expand due to pressure and cause leaks.

- I put one in my '66 FJ40. Works great. I modified my filler neck to meet up with the tank. I had to cut a couple of inches off the neck and drill new mounting holes on the flange in order to change the direction of it. I mated the tank and the flange with some sort of rubber tube, maybe a radiator hose? I also had to plug some of the various vent holes with brass hardware from home depot.
